The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird was a legendary US Air Force spy aircraft during the Cold War. It could reach an altitude of almost 26 km and flew at three times the speed of sound Mach-3. With it she flew high and so fast that she was inaccessible to the surface-to-air missiles of the USSR and could take photos without being disturbed. In addition, it was one of the first aircraft to be equipped with stealth technology, making it almost invisible to the radar.
